Year 5 - Selly Manor Trip

To support our Year 5 History topic, 'Off with her Head', we are pleased to offer the children the opportunity to visit Selly Manor on Friday 9th October 2026.

This exciting educational visit will give pupils the chance to explore a historic Tudor building and enhance their understanding of the period they are studying in class. Through interactive activities and hands-on learning experiences, children will gain a deeper insight into life during Tudor times.

Visit Details

Date: Friday 9 October 2026
Venue: Selly Manor, Birmingham
Travel: Coach
Departure: Approximately 9:15am from Gossey Lane Academy
Return: In time for normal collection at 3:20pm

What Your Child Will Need

  • Full school uniform
  • A packed lunch and drink in a clearly named bag
  • Suitable coat for the weather

Please note: As some children have severe allergies, packed lunches must not contain any nut products. Children who are entitled to Free School Meals will be provided with a packed lunch by school and therefore do not need to bring one from home.

Cost of the Visit

The cost of the trip is £20.80 per child, payable via Arbor by Wednesday 30th September 2026. If you don’t receive sufficient contributions, then we may have to consider cancelling the trip.

We are sure this will be an enjoyable and memorable experience that will greatly enrich the children's learning in History.
